Had a chance to go fishing yesterday and my Dad was able to join me. We don’t get to fish together as often as we once did so I cherish those trips. I haven’t posted many reports but I’ve been catching a few when I’ve had the chance to go. The fish are scattered out and I’m finding them about everywhere I look but they are tough to get to bite.
We started out yesterday morning bass fishing. We didn’t find any big ones, but we were able to boat 7 bass in a couple hours running points and throwing topwater. The schooling activity was limited where we fished, but we were fortunate enough to get a few bites to make things interesting.
We moved on to crappie mid morning and chased them until the afternoon. It was about the same as the bass fishing and we caught 1-2 per spot and left a lot of fish that wouldn’t take our offerings. Jigs and minnows were used and nothing really seemed to shine. We kept 19 crappie and we caught them on 7-8 different baits. There’s some on deep and shallow brush, some on docks, some on bridges, and some still roaming. None of them really seem to be in the mood to eat. At least not during the middle of the day…
None the less, it was a great trip with my Dad and we brought home a nice mess of fish to boot. Can’t wait to do it again!!!
