• Merry Christmas to all crappie.com members.

Ship, same to you and yours, and everyone else! Original thread is here: http://www.crappie.com/crappie/main-...ml#post2122773

I hope you won't mind my using your thread, as was going to start my own, however I think it fits pretty well with what yours says.

During the Holidays, many people (out of concern and compassion) see people who appear to spend the Holidays "alone". Recently I was extended an invitation to spend Christmas with a CDC Member, and had another tell me his wife felt sorry that I was spending Christmas alone in the bus parked in a Campground. Please keep in mind I'm not trying to turn this thread into a "me" thread, as I'm sure there are others in the same position as myself, so it's just not about me. I just wanted to share things aren't always how they seem.

I've spent many Holidays by myself, and it truly doesn't bother me. This Holiday Season has been the best one I've had in years. Sure, I'll be "alone" (but not lonely) and depending on the weather, may be fishing Christmas Day.

The point I'm getting to is that I've made a lot of friends thanks to CDC as of late. Sure, we'd all like to have a little more money, a nicer/bigger boat, the ability to fish more and to catch more/bigger fish, but all that seems insignificant when you look around at the friends you've made and the time you've shared with them.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to be spending Christmas day with family, like it used to be as a kid, but as we get older, families separate a bit, some move out of State (or in my case Dad winters in Florida), some we lose, many start their own families, and for whatever reason. the Family get-togethers go to the wayside.

And while I sure don't have money, nice boat, all that stuff I mentioned, I still feel "rich" in the friendships I've made this season. I wouldn't trade that for anything in the world. Material things come and go and are easily replaced, true friendships aren't.

So Merry Christmas from someone who was given the best Christmas in years by the Members of Crappie.Com, all the friendships I've made are true gifts.
