• The Hill in the kayak

Been many moons since I have fished the Hill so I took the long drive to give my old fishing holes a go. I seen that Don fished the lake the same day as I did and had a better day of numbers than myself but I was able to find some fish willing to bite. I fished some of the back water and longlined for two hours with only four small fish. Changed over to fishing any cover I found and had better luck but not a hot bite. Fished for 7 hours boating 22 fish and brought home 12 good crappie. Biggest fish was a tad over 2 pounds with a couple of pound and a half fish and the remainder 9 fish in the 10 to 12'' size. I didn't find many of the brush piles that I use to fish, I guess the floods we have had since I fish the area has washed them to other places but the ones I did find wasn't holding many biting fish so had to cover a lot of water. At the end it was a good day on the Hill, love that lake.
