• Beat down on the dock ?

Seems most all the docks get a beat down I frequent at some point , if it isn't one it is the other .
Lately it became obvious a small dock I like is getting the treatment .
jigs laying everywhere and all the boats now have rods with crappie jigs on them as well ,where there wasn't a single one when I first started hitting that dock !
So that and the nibbles laying all over the place possibly explains the last 2 visits and the lack of a decent bite either time .
Now mind you it isn't a really big deal ,but it does let the wind out of my sail some when I walk up and all the catfish rods have crappie jigs on them ....
Only managed 9 crappie last visit in 45 minutes and the visit before a dozen in the same time frame .
Very few of legal size and it is likely the larger ones are getting ate . Now mind you some of it might just be the heat and summer syndrome to a degree or 3 .
last visit it took a real light jig with a real slow drop to get bit and the line watching like a hawk with a fast hand to hook a fish .
they would only hit it on the fall and not hold onto it long , such is my story ....
looking like I need to explore some other options soon....

happens on a dock with lots o competition. have to find those couple of spots where they are that most don't fish often. or it's how you present the jig or if you have sauce on it or a nibble. problem is when you ketch them with too many witnesses and they want to join in on the fun! sometimes you have to go to stealth mode to not attract attention.

Oh yeah, they love to hang under the docks in the shade. Nice catching and pictures.
