• Kayak Trip Report, Barron Fork

I fished Barron Fork today, only caught four Crappie in three hours and all short. Decided to call an audible and see if the Gills were willing. They were hitting everywhere. Most were small, but I culled through and kept a limit. Best bait was a 1/64oz jig head on a tiny spinner with a 1" slider in orange and chartreuse. Visibility of about 12" and 58 degrees at 8AM, warmed to 65 by 4PM.

Those are the only fish I don't fillet. Scale them, cut the heads off, gut them, coat with corn meal and throw them in the grease. Yum Yum

Nothing like a good mess of gills! I always say "There is a reason they don't get to 5 pounds, they would pull you in!"
