• Far East "influenca" always

has been a stubborn habit I've had to deal with since learning, adapting to the well- shouldered combatants that swim in the St. John's waterways. Although the 31 degree, ice-covered windshield had me downshift to a comfortable, later, 2 hour drive to my Eastern destination, the decision was in stone. My penchant for 4 lb. skinny-tackle suits the tannic-stained St. Johns just fine. Although the 57* w/t had me downsize to 1/64 oz. hand-ties, slowing things down noticeably helped the modest action. Brought home 8 that met my 11" standard but enjoyed 20 (+ -) including small stumpknockers, bluegill, one tiny bass. I have attached my 2 highlight specks @13" & 14 7/8". The extraordinarily quick current(fastest I've seen) had the floating hyacinths moving like Wild West tumbleweed![emoji23] Although the "bitin'" today was somewhat tough...tomorrow they will definitely be "BIDEN"!! Hopefully should be a great spawn this season.

Good day in different conditions for sure. Those two your holding alone made trip worthwhile as imagine the Thump was solid! Looking forward to someday fishing the St john to land a few of those awesome specs and just see the sites on the river.
