Four days into the new year and my first catch of the new year was a bluegill. I took Cuonthelake out for some bluegill fishing and we fished from 1:30-3:30 pm and had a blast catching several gills and one Shellcracker.
We fished with Catawba worms and night crawlers. I took 16 home between 8” and 9.5”. It was a perfect afternoon with mild temps and no wind to deal with. Water surface temp was 49.9.
I need 3 different tarp species to get the Master Angler 4 award from the Twra. I almost had it with a 9.5” Bluegill. Needs to be 10” for a tarp certificate.
I think that Dr Phillip Gawthrop wants to fish tomorrow and I suspect that he wants to go after toothy critters below Watts Bar dam. I’ll post a report somewhere if that happens.
