• Got boat back

Knew better than going on lake on a Saturday but have been without a boat or being able to fish for 3 weeks so I ventured out. Just like I thought, though, lake full of amateurs. Have enough money to buy a boat that costs more than most people’s house but not a lick of sense between two of them. Braved the huge waves for 2 hours and caught a dozen fish at a 32’ brushpile. Figured they were there even though the water temp is 78-80 degrees. Finally was unable to hold the jig steady enough because of the waves coming over the bow so gave up. Will hit it again Monday. Here is what they looked like and, yes, Limit Tackle wedge head was the successful bait.

Terrible pics but was trying to stay in the boat.

When you say they are amateurs, can you tell us why? What were they doing, specifically?

I hadn’t driven a boat since my grandpaw died in 2000. I finally bought a boat of my own in June, after years of being stuck on the bank. I hope I’m not doing anything amateur.

typically he is talking about folks throwing wakes at fishermen and running to close to other water vessels and passing on the wrong side and going at unsafe speeds and generally breaking all the various rules you are supposed to practice when operating a motor powered watercraft .

Glad you got on the water again!!
Sometimes our hearts overrun our heads. 3 weeks is way to long to be off the water!
