• A little seat time with the 6’7” Abu Garcia Eradicator Slow Taper

My dad and I took a trip to fish Lake Keokee in Virginia. We hadn’t ever been there before but had read it had some decent sunfish in it and few crappie so off we went. I took along 3 sticks with me... The Abu, Tict Rockin Finesse, and 7’4” Corto... I did try to drop shot a little with the Corto but not much was going on. Caught my fish throwing various trout magnets in several colors (sowbug, bison, greenie weenie, black/green). The lake is full of standing trees and stumps. Some places I couldn’t even fish for constantly getting hung up. Didn’t catch a ton of fish but got 9 keeper sunfish and dad caught a 11” crappie. We will for sure go back again and hopefully find a few more. The Abu performed well with the presso reel 2lb maxima and a 1 gram daiwa jighead. I will say the rod has quite a bit of flex in the tip making me feel as if in comparison to say the Rockin Finesse it doesn’t have as much backbone??? For sure two completely different rods. I don’t regret the purchase that’s for sure... not sure which one will get the call in the spring time for the specks. It was a lot of fun on the water and here are a few pics from the day.
