• Big'un from the pond

I have a pond i go to from time to time that has some giant crappie in it. There aren't many but i don't think i've ever caught one under 14-15" there. I assume they aren't spawning successfully or something. I typically catch them bass fishing there but sometimes will get the buggy whips and catch them on the ultralights. They can be fun. This one was quite large. I don't know what it weighed but it was north of 17", wide, and thick.

Nothing to brag about as when you can find where they are, they are easy to catch there but a nice specimen i thought you guys might like to see.

I think I would be ketchn black crappie in another lake that is full of them and releasing them here. Either the bass will inhale them or they could grow up to be monsters like this hog. could be conditions are just perfect there for them

that's a good fish and its likely the bass are eating most of the little ones . not sure but its quite possible .
bass have real large appetites and will eat about anything including each other .
