After a few weeks of recovery, I was bent on going fishing.

Did some research, and opted to pass on trolling. I'm still waiting for line to arrive from Rapala, so I can get my dedicated Walleye reels complete.
Its close enough to completion, I did not feel like cannibalizing my Salmon gear to chase Walleye.

SO, i did the next best thing. Told my youngest daughter who has been cooped up the most from all this corona, that she was going with me.
She thought I was joking, most of the day before, until she realized i meant it.

So she pre-loaded snacks and food, for no stops other than fuel, on he way back, but that's a different story.

At rise and shine @ 4:00am, read to go, except for the 1 hours teen age girl delay. so we left at 5:00am, we headed for Lake Erie Metro Park.
She was a trooper, was up the whole way. We talked politics, life in general, idiots, and morons, etc, and songs called "SupaLonley" what ever that is...

Anyway, Arrived at Bottom line about 7:30, grabbed some minnows, and went to LEMP.
As we were launching other boats were coming in with limits so that was a good sign.

Launched and on the water by about 8:30, we got to where I wanted to fish about 9.
She tried, got frustrated and gave up, by that time it was 11:30, but we had 6.

The wind was a South wind, horrible, and made boat control even harder. So we took a break. A dang 3 hour break. 1.5 hours to get to Ambasador Bridge, and an equal time to get back.
Stopped @ GRassy Island to see the Eagle nest, and look for the Eagles. They were tucked in for cover and the leaves made them hard to spot, as we never did see them. She got to see the steel mill.
We also floated into Canadian water so she could be an illegal immigrant for about 3 minutes, as she was taking pictures.

The waves and rollers were horrible. Enough so that if I had known it was going to be like that, I would have stayed home.

We then got back to where we were at and the wind had died down enough to have some decent boat control.

Picked up 2 quick fish, and told her she needed to get up on the front deck. She was jigging away, and I was following her line with the trolling motor, and she goes "Dad I'm snagged again" I look and the rod tip is bouncing like crazy. I told her its a fish, and then when she saw it she yells "Its HUGE, grab the net" My inner Steve Ask kicked in and I grabbed the net, and she got her first Walleye. More importantly she knew what she was then feeling for, and said, "I have been getting bites but did not even know what it was......"

She then proceeded to put on her own little clinic, and lost the next, caught her second, and lost a third. We needed 1 more for a Father/Daughter limit of Walleye.
I told her we could go home any time, and she says "Heck No, we only need one more for 12, we are staying" it took a drift of missing some bites, and then the next drift she hooked up on her last walleye, and we had 12. That was 6 more fish in about an hour.

We drifted, a bit, ate some snacks, watched other boats while we just kind of spun in the drift as the wind blew us around not a care in the world. (We were far enough way that it caused no issues to anyone else.

Then we put the gear away, and motored back to LEMP, and headed home.

When I finally got to text, I was aware of the MA fish that Steve group caught and told the group that today, only 5 things were important today. Aiden's MA fish, My Daughter Avalon's Birthday, that was Saturday and these three pictures.
