Candi is so busy that I count it a privilege just to fish with her from time to time. Dock shooting for crappie is her favorite way to fish so I told her that today, only docks. That made her happy. She put on a clinic this morning and took her mentor to school. Lolol.

We started off around 7:30 fishing main river deep docks and it was a wasted boat ride and 35 minute of fishing time. I suppose that is good though, because we found out where they “ain’t “.

So I took her to a dock that I knew had fish on it and after the 15 minute boat ride to get there, we started fishing panfish assassins. Candi with a 1/24 oz jig head and me with a 1/32 oz jig head. By this time it is 8:15 or so. She fishing crystal Shad and me with a less productive color. She was catching so many and I was just getting good dock shooting practice that I finally relented and put on a crystal Shad panfish Assassin. This is what the fish wanted.

After that, she was just outfishing me 3 to 2. Lolol. Lots of 9-10” fish under this dock, but we did managed to put 14 keepers in the box and released another 1/2 dozen. Then at 9:25, the fish almost quit biting except for 3 or 4 shorts. I think it is interesting to note that my solunar table gave the feeding period range from 7:21 until 9:30-10ish. Before they stopped feeding, it was a fish on every cast. I love it when it is like this. We quit fishing at 9:52 and put boat on the trailer.
