• A monster shellcracker(and other species, too)

I hit Lake Hickory yesterday trying to find some white perch to fill the cooler. We found a massive school and were swinging them on board three at a time for hours. We also ended up catching channel and flathead cats mixed in with the perch.

The cooler was filled with perch so hit the banks in search of shellcracker and bluegills. I ended up catching the biggest shellcracker of my life. The louisiana swamp worm was the bait of choice and has proven itself to be panfish kryptonite around here.

All said and done we used around 300 worms and were in to fish from morning to night. That's the best day of fishing i've ever had.

Cleaning all those fish won't be fun but i'll be set for several months with those fillets in my freezer.
