• Chickamauga & J-Bird

My wonderful wife allowed me to take J-Bird fishing this morning on her birthday. Jay and I had a so so 4 hours of crappie fishing. 7 keepers, a couple of short fish and a Blue catfish that was pushing 8 pounds. We forgot to take a pic of the catfish, but I can get it this evening when I clean fish if anyone is interested. I don’t expect any requests. Grin.

water temp was 82 degrees out of Skull Island where we launched. We caught two keepers at the intake community hole and it appears that the community has thinned the herd on that spot. Lolol

I caught one keeper on a dock upriver from there , but we caught most of our fish on a main river drop off on stumps. Blue Ice Baby Shads and Monkey Milk Minnow Mind’Rs we’re best. I did catch one keeper on a Roly Poly MM early before daylight.

Water flow was over 19,000 cfs when we started. FYI, I am having minor finger surgery to remove a cyst and bone spurs in a few days and the Doctor has already told me that I won’t be fishing for 14 days after the surgery. I’ll be into high school football by then and won’t miss much. Lolol.

Great job out there! Wish you the best with the surgery. Last year I had a similar cyst removed. No fun for a couple of weeks.
