on my to do list for quite some time. Four years ago, I was afforded the opportunity to enjoy yet another facet of my fishing diversity. I was gifted a kayak by my brother in North country who couldn't enjoy the fun but rigorous efforts of kayaking. After a few salt outings, I knew it had a great freshwater venue that needed to be addressed. After numerous modifications/upgrades, I at last had the excited maiden voyage launch to try our Crappie obsession. Pontoon Pappy offered to be the Captain of the Mother ship for me to try multi-rod longlining.

Electric motor, depth finder, trolling racks etc. all employed to hopefully make this an enjoyable day after many hours of DIY modifications. The yak boarding was made easy by the shallow shoreline PP afforded me. Although kayaking for a basic newbie(geyser) is somewhat challenging, multi-rod(8) l/l yakking is the ultimate in staying on top of things.

Fishing was hot water, artificial-only stingy for both of us with only 14 fish boated with my biggest of 13" with also 1 large Gar encountered by each of us. Both my agm 10 amp hr. battery(depthfinder) and my standard deep cycle 12 volt battery appeared unfazed after 7 hours of use! Also, refused the Mother Ship towback, and easily made it back to the ramp @3-4 mph. Overall, looking for more motored kayak time both salt/fresh. Needing to now annually register the motorized yak is only a slight ding compared to its comfort/tranquility. Actually the 12.5 footer fits comfortable secured in my Ford Explorer with only 30" overhang.
