• Thump thump thump

It’s been a busy year and I haven’t been on the water since late March so the last 2 weekends I finally had the chance to get out on 3 different mornings. My original plan was to run catfish jugs but the Crappie were thumping and a catfishing trip quickly turned into a thumping good time. This was some of the best single pole jig fishing I’ve had this year and I managed 23, 18, and 17 on these 3 mornings. Old oxbow fishing in a “dead” lake that most folks ignore (shhhhh), doesn’t get much more fun!

Strong work! Great to see some healthy crappie. I really enjoy oxbow fishing. Some of the best oxbow fishing involved dragging a small john boat through the trees, weeds, over levies and beaver dams!!! The fish bite like they've never seen a jig... Thump, Thump, Thump is a great way to paint the picture!!!
