• Abbey is no longer with us (Pic Heavy)

It's been two days and it still hurts to say this, but Abbey has passed. She's been ill for a while, and I thought maybe we had it turned around, but liver/gallbladder/appendix issues finally took their toll. I've had many dogs before but Abbey was special to me as you may know, particularly since she's been to many, many crappie camps.

Here are some pics from those events:

She never met a member she did not love.

This last pic includes her four sons she had. We still have Pepper and Max, who are both helping me get through this. I never thought I'd be so attached to a dog. She's been at my side through a lot of travels over the years. It's been a fun run. Bye Abbey, see you on the big pond in the sky.

I want to thank Fishervet, and "G" and Billbob for helping me get through her issues over the last few months. Heck, when she first displayed the problems, there was a point I was driving to Louisiana to have Fishervet remove her Gallbladder. Billbob actually flew down to do the trip with me, I bought new tires for the 5th wheel and all! But after Abbey had an Ultrasound, it did not show that it was simply a Gallbladder issue. So our local vet put her on 6 different meds which did seem to help, till this week where it all went down hill.

These are some of my favorite pics of Abbey.

You can see all the weight she lost in the two pics directly above.

sorry for you loss Ed. we all know how much she meant to you and your wife. some folks don't get mourning for a pet but they are part of the family and it does hurt. we are going thru issues with our pommi liver and gall bladder when she is all stove up one day and with our good vet's attention and proper medication she has rallied back but can see end times coming and my wife will be devastated as she has had her from pup.

Glad you have her sons to console you but it still will hurt for a while.

Sorry Slab. Abbey was a great dog and my daughter loved her (pictured above), never will forget several years ago at the Missouri Spring Camp Bill Bob was watching Abbey for you while you went in the restroom in that time Bill Bob let my daughter and her friend walk Abbey.
As they walked by the restroom you came out and told them that was your dog. lol The girls started yelling stranger danger and ran back to Bill Bob which he told that that Abbey was your dog. lol
I feel your pain, losing a dog tears me up, you just have to remember she had a great life that other dogs just dream about.

Yep, I remember that story like it was yesterday. The "Stranger Danger" story. And yep, she had a great life, really knew how to work a crowd (for people food!)!!
