• Generosity by a OK CDC Member

I just wanted to relate a kind and generous act by a cdc member. I met him through this forum and soon after that we became fast friends. I've been trying to repay his kindness by paying it forward to someone else.

Recently a friend of mine was interested in getting into the sport of crappie fishing. I have taken him fishing twice. First trip 0 crappie for him. Second trip, 10 crappie. On the second trip he wanted to know where I bought my rods from and what kind they were. (I use to Huckabee 10'7" pro series). I got in touch with a member who has this specific rod and i mediated a purchase of a pro series rod and a slab swinger..When we met him last night to give him the money he declined the cash and gave my friend the two rods for free, another 8 foot rod to boot, a nine foot rod for me, and another huckabee rod and an ozark rod for my brother in law!

We completely did not expect this at all! When we got to my house, before leaving my friend spent 30 minutes with his jaws to the floor looking at his brand new rods in amazement!! All this anonymous member asked is that he uses these rods and someday pays it forward to someone else and introduce others to the greatness of the outdoors.

We live in a world where peoples actions and words are very divisive. I just wanted to relate something positive that helps unify people. In this case being kind and generous and helping others fall in love with crappie fishing.

Now days it almost takes you by surprise when someone does something selfless for someone else. It seems however that these sorts of deeds happen with more frequency here on CDC among fishermen. I saw this on original post. Always so refreshing to look away from the day to day world and be able to see such good will and see that kindness is still flourishing... depending on where you look.

A very good read of a generous act. I love my CDC brothers and the things they come up with out of the blue. Enjoy the rods and learning the sport we all so enjoy.

Great story, one I've heard several times about the generosity of the CDC fellowship. I personally have been shown such friendship from total strangers and only hope I can live up to the examples set here.
