Today was our first attempt with our new new family addition. Our previous Lab was rather larger than life, and was always a very busy boy, so he didn't get out fishing until his last month's.
Anyway, Gunner was great in the boat. We got to fish for right at 6 hours. We began our day at Boss Hogs for breakfast, then ran back to the camper to grab the truck, boat and Gunner. We got to the ramp, unloaded was on our way around 9:30.
I fished for the first few hours while Littlemama tended to Gunner, catching up on her phone duties, directing traffic between the girlies from afar, and she even got a nap in with Gunner.
The weather was somewhat raw, wind wouldn't cooperate much, but was putting fish in the boat. The sun began to poke it's face out more and more, and Littlemama was stirring. So I decided to let her take the reins for a bit, all she had to do was fish! I would handle the boat, trolling motor, all minners and all fish. She had never ran all 8 rods before so she got off to a rocky start. But she managed to get her rhythm once I began to stand behind her helping watch the rods as well.
Meanwhile Gunner would make a visit up front from time to time, but spent most of his time laying on the seats or on the sleeping bag they had brought to stay warm.
We finally called it at 3:30 ish so that Gunner could go potty, and we could get the fish cleaned. And we were going out for dinner just the two of us!!

Ended the day with 26, and not very many did we have to measure today! Life is good.....
