Started the morning headed down Celery to drop in a certain body of water, that held a certain species of fish. Beautiful sunrise & nobody on the lake....is this Saturday, I asked myself? Well earlier in the week I received a pair of jigging poles (8 ft), that ended up being modified "kinda" to trolling poles, with the help from the guys at Mud hole. The poles came with the EVA foam you see on the 1st... 1/4 ..of the pole that ran the entire length with 2 slip rings to be used for securing the reel to the pole. Rather then send back & eat shipping twice, decided to strip 18" of EVA, buy 2 reel seats & was going to run EVA after the reel seat, but after seeing some of the goodies at Mud hole, went with textured shrink wrap & capped the blank end with a rubber knob type end, epoxying all components, not bad for a amateur, but was intrigued to see how they would perform & didn't take long, bam at 13"er, good backbone w/extremely sensitive 3 1/2 ft to tip, pleased with the end result and as the wind picked up to say 7-9 mph, so did the bite, limited early & threw back plenty-o-fish. Bubble gum/pink/pearl combos. probably caught 75% of fish. Off the water by 11, I know it's hot fellas, but if any hurricanes come our way, you might be sitting on the sidelines for a while, so get after it while the bites on!!
