• Michigan Camp June 2018 Picture Story

We arrived at Houghton Lake Michigan Crappie Camp and had to find us some food for camp.

Got to camp and Billbob felt good because of all the Patriotism being displayed in front of all the sites. Was very nice. Almost every site had a flag waving in front.

Found Rich cleaning some fish. He had Perch, Crappie and Walleye.

Oh, oh, lookie what Billbob found, the cakelady! lol

Danny and Mae showed up from TM, and his Niece/Nephew from LA too.

And the fishing talk started to roll.

The next morning Just Steve took Billbob out fishing.

Billbob caught himself some small Walleye, and Pike too.

Gary had taken Danny fishing Friday morning and they did well. Here's Danny with a nice Walleye.

Here is Gary with a very nice Northern Pike.

And then Friday evenings "Liars Club" meeting got started with some good food. Doodler brought his famous bacon wrapped Phatties.

    Lies are flowing for sure.

Rich gave a presentation on Offshore Tackle Planer Boards. He also talked about their new design where the flag wire goes back and down so as to prevent the wire from getting bent. I thought that was real interesting. Great update for a great product.

Oh No, OE. Had to take a pic so "G" seen he was not "deleted". lol.

The trophy for the winner was on display. Wonder who was gonna win it. The idea is, each year it gets passed on to the next winner much like the Stanley Cup.

Saturday Ready2fish (Jimj) took Billbob and I out fishing on his new boat. Wow, what a nice boat too.

New boat can even catch fish.

Look at the size bait this little Walleye was trying to eat!

It was windy, and we decided to drift to try to catch the target fish, Crappie. Well, we caught exactly ONE! lol

    Caught many other species too.

It was windy but Jim's boat had zero problem.

OK, now come the evening events. Of course starting with food preparations.

Doodler giving it a thumbs up.

    SpartanNation likes.

Billbob likes too, just look at that face! lol

No these are not Mississippi minnows, although they are the same size. They are Lake Michigan Smelt.

I did not know fish had wings. These are Walleye Wings.

And a true Louisiana treat Crawfish Etoufe (how ever that is spelled) made by Danny (I think, or cousin John). It was great. Danny said to pour it over the fried fish, and it was great.

Teal Coveralls. The ones I'm wearing I have not worn in 30 years. I was shocked they still fit.

Vbottom won the trophy for the two biggest fish. And he also won $20 for having caught them using Slabsauce.

Vbottom won, and there was a tie for second place. SpartanNation and "D" tied.

The girls received Tackle boxes with sponsor/supporter products in them. Feel free to post who those sponsors are. One of them being FishUSA. The girls received Ice fishing poles from FishUSA. They also received jogs from Arkie Jigs too. Thank you all for your support.

Bassnlady also provided product from Fishing Complete Inc for the Tackle boxes. The kids really loved it. Future fisherladies for sure.

My brother in-law and two nephews stopped by for a visit also. The look like gangsters don't they!

Get them off their bikes and they look harmless! lol

Sinkum sent me metal art Crappie.com designs for front license plates. Doodler loved his and mounted it right up. If anyone else is interested in one, PM me and I'll see what I can do.

    Danny headed out.

But Danny left us a present. Louisiana style Chili. Who knows what all was in it, but t was awesome, thanks Danny.

It was a great camp. Thanks for all that attended from far and near. The weather and the fishing was great. I've been to MI camps where we were snowed out, so this was an extra special treat to be warm, dry and catching fish in Michigan.

It was a pleasure meeting Slab, billbob, "D" and John. The weather was perfect, the fishing was great and the group of campers couldn't have been better. Excellent food, too.

That looks like a great time! Are those Smooth Move seats in that boat? Thinking of investing in one for Pam.

You will not be dissapointed. That said, get two. I know they are expensive but worth every penny. Before I owned them, a day on the water meant 3 days bent over. With them I can fish for as many days straight as the weather will allow.
