Rain stoped early so off we went. All was perfect, the water , the wind, not many boats, and I was full of hope.
Then my bubble burst. Linda caught the first sac and then the second and then the third and then the fourth. To add insult to injury she then caught two bass.
The wind came up real bad so I threw in the towel. I headed home defeated.
....
Fellas I must confess the truth. I like to fish but Linda LOVES to fish. She can't take long all day trips and getting up early doesn't work either. Then again fishing late worries her about getting caught on the water after dark. Aside from all those limitations and a few others, we do well, fish often, and have a great time. I drop anything I'm doing to take her fishing. If I fished alone I could catch a lot more fish but catching isn't what it's all about. I could not think of a better way to enjoy our retirement. I pick at her a lot and give her all she can take but when it come to serious stuff I know where the line is drawn.
Today we are celebrating our 47th anniversary, wow it seemed only yesterday and yet it seem like forever. The day we married was much like today except colder. A cold front had come through and it was cloudy and damp. The next day we woke up to sunshine and freezing weather. I met Linda when I was 15 and she 14 and it was love at first site. I had to wait 12 years to marry her and in those 12 years we both went through some hard time and each a divorce. After all that was behind us we started new just like we had always been together. I'm proud to say that after 47 years we have never had a fight and have never gone to bed mad with each other. God blessed me when he sent her into my life the first time and even more so when he sent her a second time. I wish everyone could be so blessed.
