Louisianas Lake D'arbonne with Mel

Got out on Lake D'arbonne today with my buddy, Mel. We got on the water at the Hwy 33 launch about 7am. It wasn't long before Mel got a crappie on a shiner minnow and shortly after that I caught a bar fish on a jig and plastic. We started having trouble with the sonar units and found that the battery was dead. We still had the trolling motor batteries so we stayed close to the launch, which is where most of the boats were. We pulled out about 1 pm with 6 keepers, the biggest 13 1/2". Nice warm day, 70's and sunny with little wind. We cooked them up for dinner tonight and they were delicious.
