• Nice day on the trout river.

Decided to fish a little this morning hoping to catch a limit of crappie....no limit but 6 good crappie and 3 very nice black perch. All fish caught on Tict Ice Cube 6’ 9” Mebaru UL rod using SOS 2# test line....an 18 inch section of 2# test fluorocarbon leader with a 1/8 ounce Midnight Blue ThunderHawk lure. The fish were in 23 feet of water...on the bottom and I do mean on the bottom. A lot of fun on the UL rod. Water temps were 61 degrees...a little unusual for this river this time of year. Water was tap water clear. Caught a lot of bass, trout, and bluegill also. There were plenty of crappie there just not in a bitting mood after the first couple of hours. Life is good!

    Regards

I have never heard of a Black Perch, however, we got a ton of invasive White Perch in our reservoirs. When I Googled it they said it was a northern Pacific fish. Does it have any other name perchance? Looking at the picture, it didn't look familiar to me.
That was a nice catch by the way, all nice fish.

Awesome catch. I have been using a Majorcraft Crostage s702ul... and I love it. Sucked that I broke my X-rides twice. People don't know what they missing out on when it comes to JDM fishing rods..

Yeah they make some fantastic rods. I just received an X-Ride 7' 5" Ajing with solid tip. Got it to long line with...among other uses.
