• Too hot to fish...

Never! Well, maybe sometimes, but this morning at daylight was actually pleasant. We hadn't been out in a couple of weeks, so it was hunting time. Started out at a marina and picked up a few, but not great. Next up is offshore brush, several different locations, and a big goose egg to show for it. We decided to make one last ditch effort at the marina, as it was pushing 10:00, and looking like rain. As I idled in I saw lots of very small bait fish, and I'm talking half inches, or that's what it looked like to me. Do you downsize your jig body this time of year? What can it hurt, 'cuz it can't get worse. I have a Plano box full of Crappie Magnets that I rarely use, unless I am fishing a jig/minnow combo, which I haven't since February. Threw on one in Bison color, and it saved the day! We kept 10 for eating and I learned something, so that makes a good day!
