Redge, see that decal on the side of the RV? Same one Billbob has.
Took a road trip with the 5th wheel. Drove 7 hours South and found some good fish tacos. Lol Yuengling and fish tacos went great together.
And then the next morning we went to Dry Tortugas. A 2.5 hour high speed boat ride off the tip of Key West.
I love that Girl Scout credo.
I did not have a billbob koozie but this will have to do. Welcome to the fort Billbob.
Great trip. The snorkeling was awesome particularly by the many pier piling at the 2 abandoned coal ship docks. If you can go the trip is well worth it. The fort was neat too. They got a gun, not a cannon cause its rifled, that shoots a 300 lb projectile. It's called a parrot gun. They also had a furnace to create "hot shot". The furnace was used to create red hot cannon balls which would cause much more damage when they hit their targets. Now we know where the term hot shot comes from, I think!
Anyone know what a loophole is, in reference to a fort?
Flycaster: The original meaning of loophole was a long narrow window in the wall of a castle, through which arrows could be fired against attackers. It acquired its modern meaning in the late 17th century.
Yep. They had them between the outside door and the second door at the one and only entrance to the fort. They were used in the event the outside door was breached, but they didn't use arrows.
Billbob made it it to Duval Street. yay
And then we ate where the Sloppy Joe was invented:
KyCreek: Mel Fishers museum is worth seeing.
Yep, we did go to that museum. Was pretty cool. I had my crappie.com hat on and they would not let me wear it normal. I had to turn it around cause I guess I looked like a criminal and they wanted to make sure to see my face. I thought that was weird but I guess there's a lot of expensive stuff in there and I probably do look pretty cagey, right!
Bahia Honda got sharks. 10 yards from our 5th wheel.:
