• Morning Battle......poem.

Here is a poem I wrote recently for all the crappie fishermen on this forum. Thanks for all the help and direction to make us better crappie catchers.

I paddled down a silent stream,
the feeling like a peaceful dream.
The mist it rose,a quiet cloak,
small ripples from each paddle stroke.
A loon bemoans it's eerie call,
as waters kiss my kayak hull.
I glide atop the mirrors lid,
over logs and stumps, the depth has hid.
Dew covered webs from limb to limb,
where spiders took the time to spin.
The sun attempts to to make it day,
through heavy fog that blocks its way.
I finally find my secret spot,
the one where many fish I've caught.
I anchor off,and make my throw,
into the depth my lure will go.
Down through the deep my jig will dance,
The color choice, not all by chance.
A gentle tap,it's slight but sure,
the one I seek must like my lure.
A constant lift will seal the deal,
the fight is on,it's strength I feel.
The surface breaks like shattered glass,
back to the deep another pass.
With net in hand,I win the war,
hello my foe ,we meet once more
