• Fishing Report IT Creek

I have a friend who hadn’t been fishing since he was a kid, so I took him out on the water last Saturday. I was wondering how the fishing would be, because the weather forecast was for North/Northeast winds up to 20 mph--some of my least-favorite conditions. I’ve always thought, you don’t know if you don’t go, so we launched from IT Creek for a half a day of fishing.

Although the fishing was slower than last weekend, we got lucky. By 12:30 p.m., we were packing-up our gear and a stringer of 14 keepers: 9 crappie and 5 inferior species; fliers, bream and green carp.

The biggest crappie was a little over 13”, and we threw back plenty of very small crappie, smaller than your palm. We were fishing in 4 – 6 FOW, with jig/minnow combos or plain minnows set 2’ deep. The water temperature was 62* at the surface.

I was glad to put my friend on some fish, after all that time he had not gone fishing. I was extra glad he got this one:

It was very nice to see a fellow C.C member there, too. Hope to cross wakes out there again, Dave (Tahoe 50).

    Good luck,
    Id
