Lynn and I went on our annual Easter weekend trip to Tim's Ford. The weather played havoc with us For 3 days. Arrived on Thursday with thunderstorms in the area. Only fished about an hour with nothing to show for it. Got up Friday and it was freezing outside. Lynn caught a couple of nice smallies.
We also caught some nice crappies but none picture worthy. They have to be 14 inch or better. Couple of other smaller small mouth and a few stripe. All day about 16 fish.
Saturday came with warmer weather and light winds. Clear blue skies to start off so we went to the docks with big hopes. Could not buy a bite or find fish around the docks. Ended up Saturday morning with 1 12 inch crappie and 1 small small mouth. Had lunch and went back out to 72 degree weather with clouds starting to form. Found crappie on a spawning ground in the shallows I know about and caught 4 or 5 good ones and some black perch that were pretty good size. Ended the day with 20 or so. Sunday came and the clouds were thick and the wind picked up. Was cooler out also. Fish around brush piles since the crappie moved back out of the shallows. Did not get many bites but lost a couple of good ones in the trees. Lynn Caught another good Small mouth and that was it.
Left about 2 with our tails between our legs. We had a good time but the fishing could have been better. All fish were caught on minnows under slip floats and released. 3ft down in the shallows on the warm day and 6-8 ft down in brush on the colder days. Lynn caught her small mouths on rocky shores around stumps. Water temp was 55-62.
Good fishing everyone.
