Got a call some friends from Michigan were going to be in town next week, next thing you know they were ahead of schedule and I had to find some Griffin fish in the heat NOW. I was waiting and hoping a cold front would come through and turn on the fishing (just like everyone else down here right), but as it turns out we did not have too bad a couple days. Wasn't easy, but at least I got some good photo ops.
Day 1 (yesterday)
Nice 12 incher
Even caught Bass
And a Gar
All while Crappie Fishing
Day Two Dad came with, and we actually stated off Bass Fishing (to get it out their system! lol
Caught a nice one right of the bat. It slowed down to nothing so we ended up switching to long line trolling for Crappie. A lot easier than beating the banks for Bass.
I had to show them how we take pics. Based on the pic, I think this Crappie was a 9 pounder! lol
And yes, that's a Crappie colored Arkie Crank Bait it was caught on. Yesterdays fish too if you look close at the first pic in this thread. The Griffin crappie here are cannibals. That crank bait does excellent here.
A nice 4 fish Crappie Pro hold. I think we caught three other crappie in addition to these four. The other three were just over 10 inches, released them right a way. These we kept in the live well for pics and we released them right by the house so when Billbob comes down next week we know where to catch them! lol
