• Poor mans electric anchor winch.

    Hey guys,

this works with a cordless drill. it's a boat trailer winch with a 4:1 gear ratio, paid $24. for it.
i put the disc on it to control the rate of speed my 18lb anchors falls. just pitch the disc with two fingers to do this. doesn't take much pressure at all.

my 18v cordless drill will bring it up from 30 feet in about 4 seconds, it flies!
    doesn't even faze it.

it mounts easy to the gunnel with a small flat piece of metal or wood.

i can install a handle if i forget my drill. actually you can put your thumb on the disc and lift the anchor. it lifts it real easy.

just thought i would share with the class.

    dave

I love redneck ingenuity! I made a electric mixer out of a cordless drill and a wire whisk one time! Worked perfect! and got some laughs!

good idea .. mount a old wiper motor or a seat track motor i think either one would work . they could be found on a old junk car .
