I fished Cotaco Creek today putting in at Sharps Ford. I met a couple Crappie.com members early, including a couple guys that gave me the three Crappie they had in their livewell when they decided to call it a day. It was a slow day just like my last trip a couple weeks ago, but I still finished the day with a limit. I put back a half dozen keepers after I limited out and about two dozen short fish through the day. Single pole on laydowns and submerged brush. Best bait early was a Chartreuse Bobby Garland on a 1/16oz jig head. Around noon the fish shut down and I tried several different things before finally starting to picking up fish again on a 1/16oz white Marabou jig. I also put back two 16 inch Crappie early, I hope to catch them again one day. The water was 52 degrees with visibility of about three feet. Water is still a couple feet higher then normal winter low pool level.
