• KDWPT Fisheries Chief shares info on new habitat structures.

These structures were originally designed by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. We've modified the design a bit to meet our needs, but they are the originators. Here is a link to a news release on the KDWPT agency website that gives all of the particulars on the habitat project.

We are lucky to have good biologist here in Tn. They build and put out fish attractors in our local lakes also. Good video.

I like this idea. A fantastic way to simulate habitat.

These look awesome! I wonder how they anchor them down? Maybe concrete blocks on the bottom horizontal pieces?

Yes, concrete blocks on the bottom corners is one technique. We are also experimenting with filling the bottom PVC frame with gravel or sand or cement in an attempt to eliminate the concrete blocks. We were hoping that anglers would be willing to assist in the placement of these structures and few anglers may be willing to take the abrasive concrete blocks out in their boat due to possible damage to boat interiors and finishes. Weighting the frame would decrease chances of scarring up an angler's pride and joy!
