  • Same Crappie caught twice in less than a minute - Quite an amazing observation.

How long after you catch a fish will it take for him to bite again. I have always been under the impression that the caught fish would not bite again for at least a day or two.

Well yesterday we proved that wrong, my friend caught a nice 2lb3oz fish and we took pics of it and noticed that it had a funny looking mark on its tail. We put the fish back in the lake and in less than 10 seconds he hit again and we landed it. When taking it out of the net my friend said this is the same fish we just put back. Sure enough it was, it had the same mark on the tail and it had a hole in the mouth that I made when weighing it. I wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it with my own eyes.

We had a great morning of fishing landing 5 over two pounds. The best fish of the morning was 2lbs9ozs.

This is the fish that bit twice.

    Then we caught him again.

What an awesome day on the water. Congratulations! I, too, had always figured a hooked fish would not bite again. However, last week I hooked a fish and when he got to the top of the water he threw the hook. I threw the jig back in there by the stump he came off of and when it got to the bottom, "wham," he hit again. This time I landed him. I can't prove that it was the same fish like you did, but I am almost certain it was the same fish. Anyway, I loved your post.

About four years ago had a similar outcome fishing a shallow creek in a deep hole, caught one 10 to 15 min. apart same fish as it had a tell tale mark.
