I couldn't find anyone to go fishing with me today, so I went solo. The day started off pretty fast but fizzled out after a couple of hours. After putting 13 good keepers in the boat, I decided to try a different place that my buddy Cmj showed me. I caught bigger crappie here but the wind was too brutal and my trolling motor battery died and to top it off, I broke the trolling motor rope trying to bring it in. This left my total of 17. Too close to my first Conway limit to give up.
So I went to Matt's house and grabbed a spare battery and fixed the trolling motor rope. I decided to fish the brush piles that I had fished this morning. As I was launching the boat for the 3rd time today, I left the bow strap attached to the boat with some slack in it so the boat would slide a little bit off the trailer. As I'm backing down the end of the ramp, the boat slides off the trailer and float out into the lake. Luckily another fisherman retrieved it for me. I guess the hook was not hooked all the way. Lesson learned. I went strait to the pile I was fishing previously and yanked 3 more fish off it. My first Lake Conway limit of crappie. I know this isn't a huge accomplishment for you pros but I am pretty pumped. Hopefully this happen a little more frequently now.
