Was nice of this stranger, saying I hope this photo finds this boat owner well. Great photo
Got out at 730pm before a 830-9 pm sunset. Anything over 18" is legal and only 1 over 21" for a total of 5 walleye. Set up in front of a bridge and the shad were huge almost mistook for small brim or bass. The walleye were choking them up in the livewell. The shad were all over the surface and big marks all not long from bottom to 8 ft up. Had first four keepers of including a 22 and 19.5" by 1030pm. Threw back subsequent 18"ers until moving to new spots and finally got all bait and schools of walleyes at 1130pm to finish the night. The park closes the gates at 11pm so spent the night in sleeping bag on the bow get some sleep until light woke me up at 530am to load up and come home. Just let the spot lock keep me on the last spot while sleeping, woke up to all kind of fish under the boat but told them next time. There is a lot of talk about if walleye are scared of the fishing lights......they are not when there is an all you can eat buffet. Was using leeches and they hit hard when I put two on the hook at once.
Good job and good eats!
Very nice

Most my fishing is for catfish and crappie. But, one of these days I'm gonna try out walleye again. Did them one time . Friend and I hired a guide, met the guide about 7am at 20 degrees out! Ended up spending eight hours out in the boat trying to get one walleye each! Then the guide cleaned them for us and he left in those little bones I understand you need to cut out after cleaning them, they don't eat very well! I only got one and it was at the eight hour mark and I have to say I had no idea there was a fish on. Thought I'd hooked an mty pop can! But everyone says how great they eat so have to try them again. Maybe get a 20 incher and think I got a gallon jug of water! :-) My old boat I don't care to take out on the Columbia River but came into a new one that once I get the motors running gonna try it!
