I used gallon jugs years ago. The big blues in lake Guntersville would take those jugs under and keep them there. You could hear the jugs come bursting out of the surface of the water and splash back down. Pulled loose hooks, broken hooks and snapped lines. Once I started using sections of pool noodles I did a lot better. Had to be some big ones to take a gallon jug down and keep it under

When I target big blues I use my platform jugs. They cannot pull them under because it acts like a parachute: Name: Screenshot from BestSingleHookCatfishJugSetUp.mp4 - 1.jpg

That was lot of years ago. I use weighted tip up noodles now to I know they have been hit. I do enjoy some jug fishing. Some of the best times a fella can have on the water.

Yeah, those tip up jugs have a lot going for them. No need to waste gas trying to figure out if you have a fish on or not.

I use catalpa worms a lot. Fish up here love them. At times they will take your bait. Then your left fishing an empty hook and not knowing it without the tip up jugs
