    Tried to look them up.
Guess they are out of business.

I drop about 15 jugs string about 3 times a year for catfish. Kids absolutely love it. Something about chasing that jug down is a thrill. Guess maybe it goes back to my childhood memories of the excitement of watching a cork go under bream fishing. Limb lines are the same way. I have no problem responsibly harvesting anything I plan to eat.

What makes you think jug fishing don't "thump?"

Nothing like having a 40 pounder rip the jug from your hand. Certainly not a good idea to get the line wrapped around something you don't wish to have cut off.

From what I can gather they are out of business. That being said they don't look very hard to make. The only advantage I see over a pool noodle jugs would be the yo-yo reel would provide some adjustability

Yeah, that's 'bout what I was thinking. Nothing like the simplicity of a noodle jug or Clorox bottle. Sometimes when you complicate something simple, the end result is not better, it's just more complicated.

I built a set that are weighted. When the fish pulls it under the weights keep the pool noodle standing. Let's you know to go check on it.
