Tie a fly that look's like a hotdog soaked in kool aide and your good to go! :-) Sorry, couldn't help myself!

I met some guys from my local Trout Unlimited chapter and one is a fly guide for cats and carp. I didnt know you could catch them on a fly. I'm super new to fly fishing but still I was shocked.

Fly fishing for carp has gotten very big in the last ten years or so.

I was like no way you fly fish for carp!!! I get using a fly rod. But what for lures or bait?? Boilies on a fly rod?

Just use flies. The internets are loaded with carp fly articles and videos.

Also, I’m impressed you know what a boilie is.

Yup!! Easiest thing to use if you dont have a setup for pack baits!

Carp! You guy's eat those thing's? When I was a kid my step dad would take us to Narrowsberg, New York once a year fishing. There was a guy up there that all he fished for was carp! Big carp. I don't recall if he ate them or not. As a kid we did fish for them in a lake close by. They were about all that lake held though!
