Definitely 20lb braid. Would cast nicely!

I put the line thru the level wind then under the spool bring it up over the top of the spool and back thru the level wind tie a regular over hand knot clip the tag end close then tie a slip knot pull it tight so the over hand catches and didn't pull thru the slip knot then tighten it down and spool the reel... If you're using braid make sure to use a little bit of monofilament as a backing or put a wrap of electrical tape around the reel spool before spooling it up; otherwise the braid has a tendency of slipping on the spool.

When spooling braid on a bait caster, always put on about 10 yards of mono then attach your braid. I don’t care what knot you use braid will slip around the spool. The mono won’t slip thus holding braid in place.

Here is best knot I have found to join the two. Not hard to tie once you get the hang of it.

Yup always want a backing. Plus you know when you are getting low because you will start seeing the mono backing.

how do u add mono line to braid? your saying t first tie mono line then after 10 feet or so somehow tie braid to it? iv never used braid line before but its smaller than mono line so thought id try it i really hope i dont mess this reel up sucks i dont have no one t show me how t use it its weird having all the gears for drag spool tension and whatnot but i heard when using it for catfishign with heavy baits u dont have t worry as much about backlashing

On my post if you click on that link that says YouTube it will open up a video that shows you how to tie the knot to join them together.
