    Default California Crappie

Trying to find a great place for Crappie fishing here in California. I'm in southern California (Los Angeles). I hear of places places that are good crappie fishing spots, but they've been following up with "by i wouldn't eat anything out of there" or "but that water is really toxic"

I'm to the point now where i'll drive a few hours. Just need help knowing where the best places are. Any help would be greatly appreciated

You're probably in the worst area of the state for crappie fishing or fishing in general. Your best bets from my impressions are lakes piru, pyramid, skinner, perris and castaic or casitas lagoon? Again I'm from Fresno and I'm just saying based on observations on the internet. Lake Isabella east of Bakersfield is one the best crappie lakes in the state starting around mid March. It's a 3 hour drive from either our areas but worth it.

Lake Perris is starting to put out some nice Crappie. Sleeper lake for BIG Crappie, especially with the new flooded areas... Think Vail is closed to public access now, but that was a premier SoCal Crappie lake!
