Default Crappie are showing in the Delta

Just wanted to tell my fellow Crappie Hunters that the Crappie bite is on in the delta. Went out this evening and caught 12 fish and lost many more. Good luck !

We caught a few at McClure this weekend. We went to HorseShoe Bend and caught them at about 13' in 15' of water around submerged trees. Can you give any general details on where in the Delta? I was thinking about taking my Pond Prowler trolling motor boat there this weekend. I was thinking about Disco Bay as I have heard they can be found there around the docks. I had also thought about Little Jones Tract. Any help? If you want to PM me I understand and I would be willing to trade McClure info as well

Good Luck All, I'll post pics of those we caught in McClure. The Bass are pre-spawn and finicky and the Perch / Sunfish were actively spawning on weed beds on North shores.

Oh, I almost forgot. I caught an 8lb 4oz Largemouth in the Delta (Mossdal Crossing Boat Launch). I'll post pics shortly.

Mike, what were you catching them on? Roughly how deep in how deep of water? At McClure I took them on minnows, Blue Fox Vibrax and a white shad swim bait. They were all over the water column (13' on the minnow in 15' of water, the Vibrax was in the top 3' of water over a 5' deep point, and the swim bait 5' over 10' of water). Are you going out this weekend, or more specifically, do you want to?

Good to know wishafor. I'm going to take my Pond Prowler out this weekend for some crappie with a friend I have never taken before. We may check that area.
