    Default Turkey season tourney


    I was planning on fishing in my first CACA tourney in April on Lake Dardanelle, but once again it falls on the first weekend of turkey season in that part of the state. Not trying to be a complainer, but next time try to dodge any tourney on the first weekend of turkey or deer season and you will probably have more participation !!

    I can crappie fish all year but only turkey hunt 3 weekends in Arkansas this year. Check my nickname on this site and you will see why that matters to me !!!

    Turkey season starts on the 18th state wide, CACA tourney is on the 11th. Guess you must have a youth to take.

    Come on out and fish Saturday on Conway. If you are just dead set on Dardanelle, we have one there again the first Saturday in June. And if you want to get out of your neck of the woods to fish some new water, join us at Horseshoe on May 16th. All of these should be great tournaments with good participation.

    its really hard to accommodate everyones needs, but that is the reason that it was scheduled for the 11th , weekend before state wide season, also championship will be in September this year to avoid any conflict with archery deer season, like Arkcrappie stated we will have another tourney on Dardenelle in june , hope to see ya there !!!

    We had no Choice but have the Dardanelle tournament on April 11th due to the first weekend of April 4 and 5 is Easter weekend! And to accommodate turkey season which last from April 18 through May 3rd. That left us with April 11th! We wanted to be sure and get a tournament on Dardanelle in April because the history on Dardanelle April is the best month on the lake to catch larger then normal Crappie! And the bite is usually at its peak! Sorry we have some that feel we have not scheduled accordingly but we have a meeting each year at the end of the current season to discuss the lakes, dates, and rules and we vote on the dates and schedule them based around holidays and other conflicts we may find.
