NEVER let me work your boat!!! Why, you ask??? Well, you know those directional arrows on fuel filters?!?! They're kinda important ! ! !
Ran the boat for 10 miles tonight, at 5000 rpm. Ran like a top! I still have an idle adjustment to make, its close, I'll take care of that the next trip.
Thanks to all for the help, and things to look for!!
Oh, had max rpm of 5200, at 48mph. Gonna raise the jackplate, see what that does.

Glad you got it figured out. If you raise the jackplate, keep a close eye on water pressure.

tlefire - thank you! The jackplate adjustments are getting less and less. It's close.
No matter where the jackplate is, the Holeshot has excellent.
I hit some pretty good waves yesterday, I've been checking the transom (everywhere actually) like a hawk, so far so good.
    This winter the plan is
    - get stickers for the boat, engine and trailer.
    - install faux foam floor.
I want red flooring, Wife says grey. Should I compromise with grey and red stripes?
Anyone have experience with this stuff? Will the red bleed off, onto other items? Will red fade worse?

I haven't logged on since probably spring. I just didn't have much time to fish this summer. I just got back on and checked on your boat restore. Looks fantastic dude, congrats!

Takeum - thank you! Anyway I can help, I will. Make sites like this one, and youtube your friend. There where some videos, I watched 4-5 times, each time taking away something different.
Gelcoat is something I haven't even started with. I used a single stage paint, called it good. Will I regret that? Time will tell.
Keep that boat nice! It'll be alot cheaper in the long run.

Got some decals on the boat and trailer. Decals for the engine are en-route, supposed to be here tomorrow.
