    Default Seat Base Installation Question?

I am about to install a new seat base for a Millenium seat mounted on a pedestal. This will be the driver seat in a tiller operated Lund. The floor has carpet over a 3/4" plywood floor. What is the most secure method of attaching a 9" base that fits flat on the floor without a center hole. Originally the seat sat on a storage box attached to a side box area filled with floatation. I removed the storage box to allow more room in the stern for gas and battery.
    Thanks

What kind of base and what size post. If it’s one of those pipe type around 2 1/2 inches n diameter, I would find a piece of 3/4 plywood, cover with similar carpet mount base to it with counter sunk bolts and flat washers. Then I would mount that to your floor. Make it big enough you can put plenty of large screws in it to spread the load across the floor.

If you can find one of the cross members I’d try to screw into that as well.
