Default Xi5 24v or 36v motor guide or Minneapolis kota terrova

Wanting to up grade to a spotlock unit for crappie and being able to hold in current below the dams for catfishing. Talking running normal rates at Barkley and ky. I have lowrance units .a 2070 crestliner with a 115. Leaning towards motorguide wondering about durability, and if 24v systems would last long enough for a day outing,or do I need 36v. Would wreather stay 24v but if it want hold up no point in it. I use a 24v maxim 80 lb nowThank you for your time.

Until last summer I used to run a very similar rig on and below KY and Barkley (2070 Triton with a 115). I had a 24v 80lb Terrova on that boat with 2 group 31 batteries. On an average summer day with normal discharges I could easily spot lock for about 5 hours with the motor continuously jogging below the dams before I would notice a drop off in power. I could control drift all day because we would use the outboard to motor back up current and then use the TM to slow our drift downstream. If I wanted to spot lock all day or discharges were above normal I would have really liked having the extra oomph of the 36v system-I just didn’t have the battery space for a third TM battery without some significant rewiring.
Thanks Jgray031 thanked you for this post
