Brought the terrova out on the water today. Greatest thing since sliced bread.

Awesome. You gotta try the Autopilot AP feature. I just started using it to stay on a steady course and it works great especially when it's windy. I just put one of those aluminum pucks that take the place of the prop nut - works great - took out the little shimmy I'd get at higher speeds. Mine had developed an annoying squeak while on auto pilot or spotlock. I read about it and used Armour All as recommended and it's quiet again.

I used AP quite a bit today. Very nice feature. I also like being able to maintain ground speed instead of prop speed.

Sorry to revive an older thread but seems like the best group for my question. I just bought an 18/60 Crestliner without trolling motor. I mainly fish flood control lakes in North MS however i like to go so South La and redfish about 3-4 times a year. I was about to pull trigger on the RipTide Terrova 80, 54", I-Pilot/BT. And get the quick disconnect, foot control and 60 amp circuit breaker. BUT then i realized how much it sits off the front of the boat past the bow line. This boat is new to me, bigger than my other one however over 20 years of fishing in the trees, i know i have bounced the front end off more than one. It may just be, if the water is high in the brush, i use my 16' and not the 18'. But then i called a buddy who has the Ultrex and he sent me video of his set up, it does not hang over the bow. Now i know the Ultrex is not saltwater but i know many use freshwater TM's in brackish water a few times a year and just wash it off really good.
I guess my question is, has anyone had an issue with the Terrova hanging so far off the bow? Fresh water TM in saltwater vs hanging 4-5" off bow or flush with bow.

Not sure if this matters but will run my old Helix 7 off front (Lowrance Elite 9 Ti on back).

I would really appreciate some feedback, have a South La trip in 3 weeks so got to purchase and install asap. THanks

I haven't had any issues. I was the same at first. It really scared me, but I do not like using a foot control. I did buy the foot control. It is thin and easy to use. But, I only used it once. Love my remote control. Don't get me wrong ulrex is a heck of a tm, just not my thing.

With the Sliding plate it will be flush with the edge of boat and won't stick over that much. With mind when docking always try to pulling in to the dock from the drivers side.

Thanks guys. What about the approx 6 inch over hang? Worried about hitting a tree in the wind, too much angle on the trailer and hitting the roller when trailering?
