I don't think the holes from the foot controlled motor will line up.

I actually have a Riptide ST, which is the saltwater version of the Terrova. I have the quick release mount with the puck, and absolutely love it.

I have both the foot control and the remote. You can have them in the boat at the same time and they both will work, but I use the remote most of the time, too.

I'm different from the others. I like my trolling motors, but my new fishfinder seems like the most awesome tool on my boat. But that is my opinion, of course.

Would the quick release mount match up to existing holes? It would be an extra $80 but if it bolts up, why not?

It may or may not but good thing is you could take bottom plate and drill holes to match hull and bolt it on. Top plate doesn’t care where bottom holes are.

Loved all the responses you received. However, I would like to share a different view on the foot control. I prefer to utilize both the foot control and the remote. I keep the foot control under foot. Pardon the pun. There are often times when reeling in a fish, changing lures, holding net, phone etc., using the right/left tabs of the foot control allows me to keep using my hands on the current task while making necessary adjustments to boat course.

An an additional benefit is on long straight runs or gentle turn routes, I can turn off the remote and conserve remote battery while making course adjustments with right/left tab. With a little practice you can rotate the speed adjustment roller about as good as with the remote buttons. However on windy days, heavy boat wake waves, or tight turns it’s the remote that is utilized. On a normal outing I’d say I use the remote 50-60 percent of the time controlling the trolling motor.

Finally, I can forget my head if it wasn’t firmly attached to my shoulders. There are times I have forgotten to put the remote in the boat from charging in the house. On those occasions I just use the foot control and start fishing. Just thought I’d share what works for me.

Get the terrova and go fishing buddy.

I bought the Terrova because I had used a foot control Motorguide for 30 years and thought I would want the foot pedal. The biggest issue I had with the pedal is the response time is much slower that the direct cable steer. That said, I picked up the remote and the foot pedal never was hooked back up. I keep it as backup in case the remote malfunctioned, but it never has in 6 years. Once you get used to the remote you will love it. The anchor lock and the compass steering really make it easy to control the boat, especially if you are by yourself. If you troll this is an absolute dream as it does all the work for you.

Worked on my trolling motor well dehlima yesterday morning. I wasn't able to use some of the controls when it was down in the well - not any more. Bought a piece of poplar from HD $6 and had a can of texture spray paint in the basement from re finishing our landscape lights and voila! Got pretty lucky on the carpet match.
