Default Part-1 Batteries moved and rewired TM

I didn't have the space in the back for 4 batteries so, I moved TM batteries to front storage bin under the bow seat spring of 2017. it got on plane quicker ,set lower for trolling, and only loss 2-3mph.This made it difficult to access and perform maintenance so, I moved them again, to the center dry storage bin; with plenty of space and access. While I was at it I rewired with 4 AWG and a and a few other mods.
    (1) Battery hold down tray is 1/8 scrap sheet metal with anti fatigue mat glued to bottom and rubber drawer liner on top; pipe clamp halves riveted for battery strap security.
    (2) Drilled hole through rod locker and used thru hull connector and sump pump tubing for wiring to bow.
    (3) mounted circuit breaker to battery by flattening a piece of 1/2" copper pipe, shaped it with a file and grinder.
    (4) added gas struts to the lids 18# load rating only 9-3/4" length

    more to come

Great post and install. I have the same boat, been debating on doing the same thing with my trolling batteries. I would rather have them in the front box too, but I haven't came up with a good solution.

Go, for it do a test run before moving& rewiring though!
I did a test run with it a few days ago prior to the relocating of batteries
    2016 3 batteries in stern 42 mph / 5500 rpm
2017 relocated 2 TM batteries to bow storage area 38 mph / 5500 rpm (starting and accessory batteries in stern)
2018 relocated 2 TM batteries to bow aft storage area 41.6 mph / 5100 rpm 2018; (starting and accessory batteries in stern) I guess I found the optimal location for the batteries.

Wow that’s crazy. Moving them back that short of a distance made that much improvement. Thanks for posting this. I Don’t wanna give up that storage box, but if I wind up needing a 4th battery I have no choice.

Here's the results once trimmed properly; I checked it twice.
You can use the portside rear storage/cooler box; just remove the insert and trim the foam. This will be the shortest route to tie into the harness, only one hole to drill.
