Default Anyone have a xi5 tm?

Took trolling motor out yesterday for second trip out..thought I would use the foot control and get used to it...control worked for about 10 min then just quit working. Can't turn on or turn either direction with foot control hand held works great..have installed new batteries even tho others were good 1.5 volts have tried to resync but to no avail...any ideas on what could be the problem and is this something of a on going problem?

I had a problem with my foot pedal, I think they had me uninstall it and then reinstall it. But if my memory serves me, when you uninstall it, it erases all devices, so you have to reinstall both the foot pedal and the hand remote. I keep the instructions for that in my boat in case they stop working on the water.

Got to be honest though, I have the pedal in my boat, but in over a year, have never used the foot pedal. Just use the remote.

Even though different subject but pertaining to Xi5. How do you have your transducer mounted? The one thing I don't like is mounting the transducer on the motor. Today I about stretched the transducer cable in anchor mode. Got cable save'r for Xi5 Motor and the head was turning circles till no more cable left. Now am thinking I will go back to
    da'ducer apparatus®
a stand alone mount for the transducer.

Well when I re installed my foot control didn't have any issue with the remote. After thinking about whole issue it was probably a operator that caused my issue. Since then have had no problems at all.
As far as transducer mounting goes I mounted .one to trolling motor and ran cable up along shaft. I bought some good flexible coiled air hose and split it and ran cable in it and wire tired it to shaft right above motor and I t coils up when I stow motor. The only time I had my head spin all the way around was when I didn't get collar tightened up and when it turned it spun. If you want to pm me phone number I will send you a picture on how I did it. I'd post it but for the life of me can't seem to get pictures transferred and uploaded...

I'm running a 24 volt on a 18ft charger bass boat. I've used in current all day and no issues. Will tell you this the foot control will take you some time to get used to...

I have not had any problems with mine. I did break the hand remote where the lanyard attaches. I contact customer service and they sent me out another back cover. But I actual took the old back cover, drill a couple holes and put a cord threw it so I can't break it and drop it in the lake. I do keep a set of spare batteries and instructions how to program or sync the hand set and foot pedal, so if I have problems I can do that on the water. My current batteries are on the second year, probably need to change them before they go bad. The only thing for me is I do not like attaching the transducer to the trolling motor. Even though I have not it seems that when i am on anchor, the head turns to the point of putting pressure on the transducer cable. I have my transducer mounted on a stand alone mount called da'ducer apparatus. that way I don't worry about messing up the cable. I run Huminbird graphs so I have not run my motor with the contour lock. Think they work with lowrance for that. I use the hand held remote all the time. I have the foot pedal as backup, but except for one time to just try it out, the foot pedal stays in my dry box. The functions I use most are the anchor and the heading lock. The heading lock I use when I troll crank baits. I really don't know if I could go back to the traditional foot controlled trolling motor.
